If dbclean needed 2 hours instead of at most 5 minutes to deal with the
fewer than 65 MBytes that should be in your database, then something
is wrong with your system. This is what I see from dbclean
dealing with such a database:

Oct 6 14:06:39 calcite dccd[29784]: database cleaning begun
    Oct 6 14:07:37 calcite dbclean[19696]: expired 66602 records and 95911 checksums in /var/news/nanas/dcc_db
    Oct 6 14:07:58 calcite dbclean[19696]: hashed 898109 records containing 1529424 checksums, compressed 18716 records
    Oct 6 14:07:58 calcite dbclean[19696]: 1010688 hash entries total, 786402 or 77% used
    Oct 6 14:08:38 calcite dccd[29784]: 1.1.15 database /usr/var/news/nanas/dcc_db reopened

If instead you mean that the problem re-appeared 2 hours after
dbclean ran, then I'd look for additional evidence of disk or memory
hardware errors in the system.
