This worked like a champ; from 53% to 1.2% memory usage consistently.
Thanks!

A little code reading found a leak.
This is a temporary fix for the 1.1.2 version of dccm/dccm.c:

    *** 2156,2161 ****
    --- 2168,2174 ----

	    while ((rcpt_st = wp->rcpt_st) != 0) {
		    wp->rcpt_st = rcpt_st->fwd;
    +               rcpt_st->fwd = rcpt_st_free;
		    rcpt_st_free = rcpt_st;
	    }
