I believe I've seen this problem in earlier versions than dcc-1.3.95 as well. Apparently, if whiteclnt.dccw is absent, `dccm' is unable to create one. It logs messages like this: Sep 15 13:30:08 setup01 dccm[7407]: [ID 702911 mail.error] unlink(whiteclnt.dccx): No such file or directory Sep 15 13:30:08 setup01 dccm[7407]: [ID 702911 mail.error] rename(whiteclnt.dccx, whiteclnt.dccw): No such file or directory Sep 15 13:30:08 setup01 dccm[7407]: [ID 702911 mail.error] impossible size of whitelist whiteclnt.dccw: 42108 Sep 15 13:30:08 setup01 dccm[7407]: [ID 702911 mail.notice] 1.3.95 listening to inet:3331 with /usr/local/dcc Afterwards, there's no whiteclnt.dccw file. I solved it by copying one that was correct for an earlier version: # ll -t whiteclnt* -rw-r--r-- 1 daemon bin 3993 Sep 15 13:38 whiteclnt -rw-r--r-- 1 daemon bin 47484 Jun 9 16:12 whiteclnt.dccw After restarting `dccm', it created a new one: # ll -t whiteclnt* -rw-r--r-- 1 daemon other 47484 Sep 15 16:47 whiteclnt.dccw -rw-r--r-- 1 daemon bin 3993 Sep 15 13:38 whiteclnt This time, it logged only this message: Sep 15 16:48:23 setup01 dccm[7688]: [ID 702911 mail.notice] 1.3.95 listening to inet:3331 with /usr/local/dcc -- -Gary Mills- -Unix Support- -U of M Academic Computing and Networking-
