Chris Gallantree

Chris Gallantree sent this query about the presence of gallantree.com and cityitserve.net in the Rhyolite Software list of unwelcome domains. That objection is from a dccm logdir file, because mail from his domains is unwelcome at Rhyolite Software. (See also the DCC documentation.)

That listing exists because of this unsolicited bulk email.

It seems that when Mr. Gallantree wrote in his query that "NO mail is sent to anyone without them subscribing to our news letters or other mailings," he forget to continue by saying "with or without their permission and regardless of whether they actually exist." Besides the unsolicited mail sent to <vjs@rhyolite.com>, Mr. Gallantree also sent sent this unsolicited bulk email to addresses at rhyolite.com that have never been valid. (That is also a dccm logdir file, because that mail was caught by a "spam trap." The "spam trap" target addresses have been censored.)

Judging from whois data, Chris Gallantree is or was associated with gallantree.com, cityitserve.net, wyrecompute.com, and shytot.net.

After his query about gallantree.com and cityitserve.net, he apparently started an advertising campaign for shytot.net as evidenced by this later unsolicited bulk email captured in another dccm logdir file.

Please consider the independent reports of Mr. Gallantree's unsolicited bulk email found in the newsgroup news.admin.net-abuse.sightings by searching for gallantree.net, cityitserve.net, and shytot.net.

Mr. Gallantree's formal apology is not needed. It would be nice if he, his email, and his enterprises would disappear from the part of the Internet connected to Rhyolite Software. The Rhyolite Software list of unwelcome domains is a partial attempt to implement that separation.

Other questions are answered in the list of objections about entries in the Rhyolite Software list of unwelcome domains.
