On March 4, 2005,Elliot Krasnow of CITEASE.com sent this objection to the presence of citease.com in the Rhyolite Software list of unwelcome domains and IP addresses.
That entry exists because of this unsolicited, unwanted bulk advertising mail or spam. That dccm logdir file has been censored to hide the "spam trap" to which it was also addressed to prevent "list washing." The thought of that "spam trap" requesting information about "Netspace Franchises" or any other "Investor Relations News" is as amusing as it is entirely implausible.
In his objection, Mr. Krasnow says
We don't know how or why you have published our name as spamming, but we are removing your domain wherever it may exist in our databases, if, indeed, it does exist somewhere. We are not aware of that and we are not spammers, nor have we spammed your domain.
That may be true, but only in a "spam is that which we do not do" sense.
Other questions are answered in the list of objections about entries in the Rhyolite Software list of unwelcome domains.
